Direct TV competes with Verizon FiOS’ Home Media DVR with its very own Whole-Home DVR service. The latest service of Direct TV enables subscribers to watch and record TV shows in up to 15 televisions with just a single DVR. Subscribers can catch their favorite shows from the living room, kitchen, dining room, bedrooms, or anywhere else in the house.
Direct TV is also offering FREE HD for 6 whole weeks to new subscribers. This entitles new subscriptions of any of Direct TVs basic packages, starting with the Choice package with HD programming at no extra fee. Direct only requires a 2-yr commitment period and an auto-pay enrollment to close the deal.
Dish Network, however first initiated this offer with its FREE HD for Life promo which is valid until September 28. Dish opens this promotion to new and existing customers to any of its Dish America and Dish Latino packages. Same as Direct TV, Dish requires a 2-yr lock-up period and an auto-pay enrollment to avail the promo.
