Satellite TV Comparison: NETFLIX VS SATELLITE TV VS CABLE

Let’s compare Satellite TV providers against Cable TV (their biggest rival in the pay-TV industry) and another service called Netflix.

Cable TV. Although satellite TV came a few years later than the cable service, they have already amassed a great number of subscribers over the years. Digital channels, cheaper packages and a wide range of product choices – these are few of the advantages satellite TV used to have over cable TV. But now, digital cable is strongly being advertised by cable companies as well. What would happen to satellite TV?

Netflix. This company offers TV viewing service by renting DVD and Blu-ray discs to its subscribers for a fixed monthly rate. Instead of getting a pay-TV subscription, Netflix subscribers may settle for monthly rentals to get their daily TV fix. Should they be considered a threat by the big satellite TV players?

Comcast is seamless as the programming goes into my wired home and splitters take care of directing the signal to either TV or computer with no extra boxes being required.

Does a PCTV tuner card work for satellite TV?

I have a satellite TV in the rest of the house and a connection in the office but wasn't sure if my PC could play it.

Yes, a PCTV tuner card is used the same way like the regular TV. And because it acts like a regular TV, you could attach your satellite TV to your PCTV so you can watch your favorite tv shows or movies in your PC.
