I have a satellite TV in the rest of the house and a connection in the office but wasn't sure if my PC could play it.
Yes, a PCTV tuner card is used the same way like the regular TV. And because it acts like a regular TV, you could attach your satellite TV to your PCTV so you can watch your favorite tv shows or movies in your PC.
However, to be able for you to watch different channels, you will be needing a new satellite receiver for your PCTV tuner card. If you're not going to have a new satellite receiver, what you can watch in your regular TV will be identical to your PCTV.
